Triple Success For Prominent Welsh Insurance Broker
FUW Insurance Services Ltd, Wales’ leading specialist agricultural insurance broker celebrated a triple success at the recent Success Through Skills Awards 2025, held in Cardiff.
As part of their success, FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s longstanding Senior Account Executive, Ann Harries Jones scooped the gold award in the Welsh Language Champion category whilst Hazel Eldridge, an Administration Manager for FUW Insurance Service Ltd, was a gold winner in the Higher Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category. FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s Faye Morgan also claimed a silver award in the Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category.
The inaugural ceremony, hosted by training providers ACT and ALS honours the achievements of learners and employers who have demonstrated an outstanding dedication to growing their skills, advancing their careers and contributing to their workplace.
Ann Harries Jones has worked for FUW Insurance Services Ltd for over three decades, working as an Insurance Account Executive covering the Isle of Anglesey. During Ann’s many years at the broker, she has been instrumental in making sure that Welsh language customers are not discriminated against in the process of discussing their insurance needs; leading the way in ensuring that much of the Company’s client documentation is also available in Welsh. Ann’s passion towards the Welsh language and culture also shone through during the 2017 National Eisteddfod held in Bodedern, Anglesey, where Ann was part of the team that ensured the company’s presence at the event over 8 days.
Hazel Eldridge meanwhile joined FUW Insurance Services Ltd at an entry level position of an Account Handler, following 37 years of experience in the banking sector. She immediately shone in the role, and was soon promoted to Regional Lead Account Handler and later Administration Manager. In her role, Hazel manages 32 Account Handlers managing the team’s capacity during challenging periods, including navigating the team through post-covid employment challenges. Hazel’s leadership and encouragement has helped ensure the business is now operating with 85% of staff having achieved their Cert CII qualification or in the process of completing the course.
Finally, silver award winner Faye Morgan joined FUW Insurance Services Ltd in July 2023 with no background or experience working in the insurance or financial sector. Since starting her employment, Faye achieved her CII Cert qualification within 13 months, growing from strength to strength in the role and absorbing a significant amount of knowledge in a short period of time. She has also been successful in securing a place on the FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s in-house ‘Account Handler Academy’.
Commenting on FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s triple success at the award ceremony, Board Chair, Ann Beynon OBE said: “We are delighted with Ann, Hazel and Faye’s success at this recent award ceremony, and as a business we are honoured to see our staff once again recognised so highly for their hard work and dedication.
These successes are particularly gratifying as they embody the wealth of talent, experience and enthusiasm we have in FUW Insurance Services Ltd across many generations – from Ann’s hard work and dedication towards the Welsh language over three decades in Anglesey, to Faye’s terrific achievements and enthusiasm since joining the team in July 2023.
Meanwhile, Hazel’s staff development initiatives are hugely appreciated both by the account handlers she supports and by the business as a whole. Her work has contributed to a significant revenue uplift across the business which demonstrates how people are a company’s most important asset.
Their achievements demonstrate the value of investing in our people and fostering a culture of excellence, which benefits the company and customers.”
Guto Bebb, Chief Executive of FUW Insurance Services Ltd added: “The recent awards at the Success Through Skills Awards 2025 are a cause of celebration for everyone at FUW Insurance Services Ltd.
As well as Ann’s outstanding success in winning the Welsh Language Champion category, we’re also delighted to see our investment in apprenticeships recognised once again through Hazel and Faye’s awards.
Both successes follow another double triumph at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) annual Apprenticeship Awards in November, and reinforce our commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for young people to gain valuable skills and launch successful careers in rural Wales.”
