Leading Welsh insurance broker launches internal academy

FUW Insurance Services Ltd, Wales’ leading specialist agricultural insurance broker, is enhancing its commitment to staff development with the launch of its internal Account Executive Academy.

The establishment of the Account Executive Academy follows a rigorous internal selection process that yielded six successful candidates from FUW Insurance Services offices across Wales.

The 18-month programme includes monthly training sessions focused on a range of Account Executive duties, incorporating on-farm visits and direct engagement and meetings with insurer partners.

The programme commenced with an immersive all-day session at ERS’s Swansea office, a major UK specialist motor insurer. Participants gained invaluable networking connections with key ERS staff and underwriters, as well as an opportunity to nurture an in-depth knowledge of the insurer’s products and services and the wider insurance landscape.

The establishment of its internal academy reinforces FUW Insurance Services ongoing commitment to employee development, evidenced by a string of recent accolades for its apprenticeship and career development initiatives.

Most recently, the company celebrated a triple success at the 2025 ‘Success Through Skills’ awards, including a gold award in the Higher Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category and silver award for Apprenticeship Learner of the Year.

November 2024 also saw the business win the Apprentice Employer of the Year (Small) award at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and Personal Finance Society (PFS) annual Apprenticeship Award and qualification prize-giving ceremony in London.
